What to read from modern literature?
The one who regards literature as a passing aspect of history is wrong. Yes, with the advent and widespread use of the Internet, of course, we have become less read. And the literature began to adapt to the capabilities of the reader and smoothly move to the Web. But we will talk about other literature, about the one that is still printed on paper and pleases us with its uniqueness in all its manifestations.
What to read from modern literature? More than once in disputes with contemporaries, we reached the point when there was no reasonable argument. I want to note that from this point on the article will be of a pronounced subjective nature - it is understandable, they do not argue about tastes. I will share my observations and preferences with you, dear readers.
The number of authors is growing every day, even if we talk about the authors of a world scale. We will talk only about a few of them.
Children's and teenage literature
Not to mention JK Rowling. You have probably heard about her thanks to such a work as "Harry Potter".I would like to dwell on this masterpiece for those who are not familiar with it.
This is the first book of the author, once remained in obscurity. Saying a “book” will also be disrespectful, because this is a whole series of seven (7!) Editions:
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
- Harry Potter And The Chamber of secrets
- Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Books describe the story of a young wizard studying at the school of magic and witchcraft Hogwarts. At first glance it may seem that the works are aimed at a young audience, but my opinion is radically different. Especially the older books in the series can be recommended for reading by many adults. Books are an excellent tutorial on character development, prioritization, instilling a sense of dignity and honor. Here and on such a phenomenon as love, albeit indirectly, but very competently narrated. I recommend reading to anyone who is not yet familiar, as well as adults to establish better contact with children. From the books you can very subtly feel the whole adolescent psychology and behavior model, which is worth it.
What to read from modern literature to adults? Here is a short list of authors of modern times, whose works will appeal to adults:
- Chuck Palahniuk
- Stephen King
- Paulo Coelho
- Janusz Leon Vishnevsky
- Alexey Nikonov (poetry)
Here are examples of specific works of these authors:
- "Fight Club", "Invisible", "Choking", "Snuff" Palanika.
- "Loneliness in the network" Vishnevsky
- "Dead Zone", "Flaming eyes", "Mobile", "Rage" King. The latter was withdrawn from sale, but you can find it on the Internet.
- “Alchemist”, “Eleven Minutes”, “Zaire” Coelho.
- Collections "NonHardcore", "Technique quick writing" and "Hallucinations" Nikonov.
The latter are very specific, I would call these works focused on narrow groups of people.
Do not think that there is nothing to read from modern literature. The proposed authors and works will convince you of the opposite, try to read something from their work!
